The Hare and the Tortoise

A long, long time ago, there lived a hare in a forest. It was so proud that it could run very fast. It challenged most animals in the jungle in terms of race. It was quite proud of its speed. One day, the hare saw the tortoise walking very slowly. Seeing the slow pace of the tortoise, the hare laughed at it. The hare made a mockery of the tortoise. It challenged the tortoise to a race. Being angry with the hare, the tortoise accepted its challenge.

Both the hare and the tortoise started a race at one point. The hare ran very swiftly and reached so far, leaving the tortoise behind. After some time, it turned back to see where the tortoise was. The hare noticed that the tortoise was walking very slowly, and it was far behind. The horse planned to take a rest for a while on the wayside.

While taking a rest, he fell asleep. On the other hand, the tortoise slowly moved on without taking any rest. It kept on walking at its average pace. Soon he reached the place where the hare was sleeping. It steadily passed the hare. When the hare saw the tortoise just crossing the finishing line, it became quite surprised and started running very fast. Unfortunately, it was too late. The tortoise had already reached its goal and won the race. The horse became quite disappointed to find his competitor already there as a winner.

Moral: Slow and steady wins the race.

The Bee and The Dove

Write a story using the following outlines. Give it a suitable title and a moral too.

OUTLINE

A bee falls into a tank .......... a dove flies past ......... drops a large leaf into the water....... the bee climbs onto the leaf ...... flies away ..... a hunter takes aim at the dove ......... the bee stings him ........... the dove is saved.

The Bee and the Dove

A long time ago, there was a bee. It was small and beautiful. One day, that bee was on its way in search of nectar. It moved everywhere with great speed. Unfortunately, it fell into a water tank. It tried its best to come out of that tank, but each time it tried, it failed. Fortunately, a dove saw it all while flying just over the water tank. The dove felt pity for the little bee, which was struggling hard to save its life. Immediately, the dove flew onto the tree, picked up a large leaf with its beak, and dropped it into the water tank. As soon as the bee saw that leaf, it climbed on it. A bit later, the dove took the leaf out of the water tank and saved the life of that bee. After saving the bee's life, the dove flew away. Some days later, the bee was sitting on a branch of a tree. It saw a hunter in a jungle with his gun.

The hunter took aim at the same dove, which saved it once. As soon as it saw that sight, it immediately moved towards the hunter. Before the hunter could fire his gun, the bee stung him in the neck. The hunter shouted aloud in pain. Hearing the sound, the dove flew away. The little bee flew away quite proudly for being able to repay the debt to his lifesaver, who saved it once.

Moral: One who helps others will be helped.
