Essay on Human Diseases

                   Human Diseases

Diseases were probably known to the people from their existence on earth. Long before, people were very innocent. They thought that the diseases occurred due to the sins they committed. Even today, this belief exists in some remote villages. But with the progress of education and science, this belief is fading away. Learned people know that diseases are caused by malnutrition and germs. When germs enter our body, they multiply in number and make our resistance power weak. Then our bodies suffer from diseases. It is therefore said that diseases are such causes due to which the functions of the body are disturbed or deranged.

There are two types of diseases: communicable and non-communicable. Communicable diseases are those that spread among individuals in a community. It is transmitted from an infected person or animal through an agent like air, food, water, etc. Tetanus, typhoid, and tuberculosis are communicable diseases. But the diseases caused by a lack of nutrition or overnutrition are called non-communicable diseases. They are not transmitted from one person to another through any agent. Heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, etc. are some of the non-communicable diseases.

We must always remember that if a person is suffering from a disease, he becomes a burden to the house and society. Therefore, some safety measures should be taken in order to prevent diseases. We must always drink clean and germ-free water. We should keep our surroundings clean. We should always eat fresh and balanced food. All children should be vaccinated against the most common communicable diseases. To prevent ourselves from being attacked with deadly non-communicable diseases, we should prohibit smoking, drinking alcohol, taking fatty foods, and drinking unnecessary drinks. We must create a peaceful environment in the family and the house. By observing these rules of prevention, we can rescue ourselves from severe diseases. We should always keep in mind that prevention is better than cure'.
