Importance of Games and Sports

Games and sports are quite essential for our lives. They are an integral part of education. They are included as part of education in all schools and educational institutions. The main aim of games and sports is to develop the physical, mental, and social well-being of people. The sound mind resides in a sound body. It is essential to keep our bodies fit. One of the objectives of sports is, of course, bodily exercise. The health of the body is essential for success in life. An unhealthy man is always sad and has no confidence in himself. To stay healthy, one must take an active part in sports.

The great advantage of sports is that they provide us with a combination of exercise, thrills, and excitement. They provide us with pleasure, and they promote our mental, social, and emotional health. These games are so helpful for us to form our characters, too. Thus, they help in developing our personalities. We learn many things from these games. We have to make a team to play the games. We learn the value of cooperation and unity. Through games, we learn to be obedient, disciplined, and ordered.

Nepal was not doing well, but now there has been a considerable improvement. Still, a lot is left for its improvement. It is very sad that no proper attention is still being given to games and sports in schools and colleges. In crowded towns and cities, schools and colleges have no playgrounds. Some private educational institutions have tried their best to promote games and sports. But there are hardly any programmes in colleges and schools.

There are no facilities for these activities. Should there be more encouragement and facilities for Nepali players in their early stages, they will bring home a lot of good news.

Sports also bring with them healthy competition. The competitive instinct is natural in men. Games and sports are thus important in every part of our lives.

Playing games is one of the most important parts of our lives. It is an activity that includes individuals and groups. It provides us with entertainment. It makes us quite strong, both physically and mentally. When we become mentally fresh, we can do our other tasks properly. The game helps to keep our bodies fit and healthy. So, the players always look handsome. If we don't take part in any games or do any exercise, we become mentally tired and cannot work properly. The game teaches us leadership, team spirit, and sportsmanship. It teaches us to be disciplined. A disciplined person can progress a lot more than others.

A good player can earn not only money but also a name and fame. They always try to make their country known around the world. We can give the example of Brazil. Brazil is quite famous in the world because of the football game. This game helps to increase the economy of the country too.

Fair play in games teaches us to be fair in our practical lives. We learn how to work hard. Good players go to other countries to play games, from which they learn many things by seeing with their own eyes. The game teaches us not to laugh at success and weep at failure. Games and sports always provide much entertainment to millions of people around the world.
