                The Lion and the Rabbit

A long time ago, there lived a big lion in a dense forest. He was the king of all the animals in that jungle. After some years, he became very old and weak. He could not go out in search of his food. He was not able to kill the other animals. One day, he called a meeting of all the animals in that particular forest. All the animals appeared in his place as soon as they knew about his call. He became very happy.

He told them about his condition. He said that it was their duty to feed him every day. He ordered them to make a list of animals. He told them that they must come to him one by one every day. They could not oppose his decision. There was an old, clever rabbit, too. He was ready for the food from that old lion. On the day of his turn, he went to the lion. He was late. So, the lion became angry with him. The rabbit had already made a plan to kill him with his clever trick. He told the king that he had found a lion on the way. The new lion said he was the king of that forest. The old lion got angry and went to visit that lion with the rabbit. The rabbit took him to the deep well. He told the lion to look into it. The lion saw his own reflection.

The foolish lion thought of it as another lion. He wanted to kill him. He jumped into the well. The well was very deep. The old lion died there. The clever rabbit saved all the other animals. They came to the rabbit and thanked him.

Moral: Knowledge is more powerful than physical strength.

                     The Thirsty Crow

A long time ago, there was a clever crow. It was a very hot summer day. He was flying for hours to visit his relatives in the next forest. He felt very thirsty and wanted to quench his thirst. He keenly peered down into the dark forest to find rivers or ponds. Unfortunately, all the rivers and ponds were dry.

The poor, thirsty crow saw a small village far away on his left. He thought that there must be some people living there, so he guessed he would definitely find water there. So he gasped and flew towards the village. He could see small, neat, and tidy houses, but no water! Suddenly, his eyes caught sight of a small water vessel beside a small hut.

The crow landed there and peeped into the vessel. The poor little creature saw little water at the bottom of the vessel. It was impossible to drink water from the vessel. He was almost going to die; he was gasping badly. Then he thought, "I must do something to drink this water." He looked around and saw lots of scattered pebbles nearby.

Suddenly, his face was dazzled when his eyes caught sight of the pebbles. Then he dropped the small pebbles, one by one, into the vessel. He saw the level of water rising up and up. Happy he was to watch this all! At last, he could quench his thirst. After that, the happy crow set out for his journey.

Moral: There is nothing impossible if you work hard. So, where there is a will, there is a way.
